THE CRAFTING PROCESS

BY JOMOA. uses the sand casting process to produce rings. This includes making wax molds, casting, metal melting and sanding & polishing. All these steps are further outlined below and contribute to make the final product of a BY JOMOA. ring.

1. WAX MOLDS

The process begins with the wax molds. These are individually made wax models of the ring that facilitate the sand casting process. These are made for each size of ring. Hours are spent carving these molds to ensure consistency across the sizes.

2. SAND CASTING

In the sand casting process, wax molds are used to imprint sand, allowing for a "cast" of the ring shape to be left in the sand. This is then filled with 925 sterling silver or Argentium in the following process.

3. METAL WORK

Using the hollow sand cast, 925 sterling silver or Argentium use heated and melted to liquid form. This is poured into the cast, filling the shape of the ring.

4. SAND AND POLISH

The ring's immediate rough texture is sanded with sanding tools. This is followed by the polishing process. This process takes hours to ensure the highest quality product is produced.
