Pieces and their stories: Ten Commandments. That Cursed Tree. Genesis
Ten Commandments
10 Commandments. 10 Stones. 10 rings.
This collection was inspired by the Ten Commandments, laws that the Israelites received from God in the Old Testament of the Bible (around 3400-3500 years ago).
As the designer of humans, God knows how we were made to function. These aren't merely rules that people were told to follow, they were guides for how to live lives that fulfilled our purposes, allowing for strong relationship between each other and God.
The Commandments also expose the human heart, the brokenness and unfulfilled nature of humanity. When we walk away from the designer of humanity, humanity isn't able to function properly. The rings act as physical reminders of God's love in guiding us in the life we were designed to live and how we don't fulfil our truest purposes and potential apart from Him.

That Cursed Tree
This collection was inspired by the events that take place in the Gospels (the accounts of the life of Jesus). I wanted this collection to place an emphasis on the importance of what Jesus did, what that means for us and what that reveals about His character. This collection features 4 rings that act as physical reminders of different truths.
That Tree symbolises the cross that Jesus was pinned to, and died on for the sake of humanity. The power of this is in His resurrection, fulfilling His own claims and other prophecies. The Gap symbolises the separation between humanity and God that was created by sin. When worn with That Tree, this gap is bridged by the cross, an act that re-established the union between God and humanity.
Cornerstones were essential in the history of buildings as they lined up the building, ensuring an aligned and stable building. Jesus is referred to as the cornerstone, someone who aligns and stabilises people's lives. The Outpour is a fluid design that symbolically visualises the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on those that put their faith in Jesus, being someone who transforms us more into Jesus' likeness and a force that we can lean upon.
Genesis
This collection was inspired by the events of Genesis, the first book of the Bible. The collection features 2 designs, the Promise Loop and Dust to bone, one symbolising the unbreaking nature of God's promises, the other being a piece that reminds wearers of our purpose found with God, going from dust to bone, only by His will.
